Antioxidant Supplements

Green Tea must be classified as a top antioxidant. Eating foods that are high in antioxidants and taking antioxidant supplements are two ways you can help your body get rid of free radicals, which are chemicals the body naturally produces and causes damage to the cells. Antioxidants attach themselves with oxidants, preventing the oxidants from creating free radicals.

Antioxidants can be found in a variety of foods and drinks you can incorporate into your diet. By eating antioxidant rich foods, your body will soon experience the health benefits of antioxidants. Antioxidants can give your immune system a boost and even slow down the aging process since they fight the free radicals that kill cells. More and more people are becoming aware of the powerful health benefits of antioxidants, which is why you will see a variety of antioxidant products being sold in the market today.

You can consume both the best antioxidant supplement and antioxidant food or drink if you want. But they can be too expensive, so you may want to consider green tea, which is considered by many to be the top antioxidant drink.

What is Green Tea?

Green tea is a type of tea that has undergone minimal oxidation during processing.  It contains catechin polyphenols and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), both very good antioxidants.  This tea has been subjected to many scientific and medical studies to determine the extent of its long-purported health benefits, with some evidence suggesting regular green tea drinkers may have lower chances of developing certain types of cancer.  This amazing tea is believed to kill cancer cells without harming the body's healthy ones.

It is not only a great antioxidant drink for cancer.  Green tea is also purported to aide in other diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, high cholesterol levels, heart disease, infection, and impaired immune function.  What great benefit it does to the body!

More Advantages of Green Tea

Aside from those diseases mentioned earlier, green tea has also been claimed useful for weight loss management.  Regular drinking of this tea can cause weight loss.  Green tea also prevents tooth decay and helps maintain good teeth condition.  With all these benefits, this fantastic tea is really the number one antioxidant drink.

The Downside to Drinking this Top Antioxidant Drink

Green tea has numerous health benefits but it's not perfect; drinking this top antioxidant drink does come with a few consequences, albeit minuscule. If there's anything bad about this remarkable tea, it's that it contains caffeine. Caffeine is a substance known to cause insomnia and other sleeping problems. If you'd rather not experience the adverse effects of caffeine, you can get your antioxidants from other food sources and simply drink green tea occasionally.
